Her Light Shone

Through the darkness,
her light shone
when the storm had come
and the stars were gone

All through the night
the captain fought
with that distant light
his only thought

She's waiting there
in storm or calm
waiting there
to guide him home

Through the darkness
her light shone
and kept him safe
from dusk to dawn

Secure at last
from worldly harms
he raced up the beach
into her arms

His beacon, his lighthouse
his heart's true home
no storm could keep him
when her light shone.
