no breath between
my lungs ache
with the memory
of the moment
before I took this plunge
one last breath
meant to last
longer
deeper
burning inside me now
this is not drowning
but i am
floating upwards
only as fast as these bubbles
will rise
there is no breath
between me
and the surface.
