In Tears
When you're standing there
tears on your cheeks
for anyone to see
unable to sing
as you try to lead
you break my heart with
your poignancy
He hears your
not so secret prayers
to a Father up above
from an angelic daughter
whose ailing father
is the center of her love
and every tear that falls
with every whispered plea
is noted in heaven
and comfort sent lovingly
from an eldest Brother
who knows what it is
to suffer
as he did for you and me
He hears
when you are in tears
and the words cannot come
